Isaac Yisak Seo is a distinguished Canadian pianist and conductor known for his dynamic performances on the world stage. He has appeared in prestigious concert halls across Europe, North America, including the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Place des Arts in Montreal, Paganini Hall in Italy, and Koerner Hall in Toronto. He was one of the two Canadian pianists to compete in the 2005 International Chopin Piano Competition in Poland and the 2007 International Queen Elizabeth Competition in Belgium, Isaac’s exceptional artistry has earned him numerous accolades, including prizes at the International Stepping Stone Competition, the International Flame Paris Competition, the Montreal Symphony Competition (OSM), Toronto Kiwanis Music festival and the Canadian Music Competition and more. He was guest artist at the Orford Art Center and his program was broadcasted on CBC Classical radio station.​

Isaac’s musical journey includes studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Montreal University, the Conservatory de Belgium, Juilliard School (B.M.), and Manhattan School of Music (M.M.). He has been mentored by some of the most esteemed figures, including Peter Longworth, Marc Durand, Leon Fleisher, Yoheved Kaplinsky, John Perry, Anton Kuerti, Jacques Rouvier, Phillip Kawin, Solomon Mikowsky, Kyung Wha Chung, Richard Goode, Alfred Brendel, and Martha Argerich.

A passionate educator, Isaac has mentored and nurtured many talented pianists, with his students winning prestigious prizes at competitions such as the Pre-college Concerto Competition in MSM, the Canadian Music Competition in Toronto, Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival, Unionville Competition, OYMI, Lincoln Center Debut, Carnegie Hall Debut, acceptance to Stanford University, $10,000 scholarships from the Nation Young arts Foundation in the U.S. His students have performed as soloists with orchestras in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Toronto, further solidifying his reputation as a transformative pedagogue. ​

Isaac is an active adjudicator to music competitions, including Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival, OMFA (Ontario Music Festivals Associations, Provincials), Unionville Competition, New York Vocal competition, OYMI Toronto, OYMI Calgary, ORMTA (Ontario Registered Music Teacher's Association Scholarship Recital), Isaac runs Encore House Concert Series (founded in memory of Peter Longworth) inviting internationally acclaimed artists from all around the world, members from the Philadelphia orchestra, Canadian Opera Company, Toronto Symphony Orchestra and more.

Isaac is an active conductor, he served as a St. Timothy Church Choir in Toronto and OYMI Youth Orchestra. Currently serving as Artistic Director of the Toronto Korean Canadian Choir (TKCC), Sohrae Youth Orchestra and Conductor-in-residence of Canada Youth Chamber Orchestra (CYCO).

Isaac founded Seohan Orchestra, which was commissioned by the Consulate General of south Korea in 2022.  Isaac has a deep commitment to community outreach and Seohan orchestra has been delivering free-admissions classical music concerts funded by the government since 2022. Isaac Yisak Seo’s artistry, dedication to teaching, conducting, piano performing and passion for classical music continue to inspire audiences and students alike.
